Vestal cuckoo bee

Description

Like other species of bumblebees it is covered by a thick hair and has a livery with yellow,black and white bands.Differentiation from other similar species can be done only on the basis of a microscopic examination of the genitals.Females are larger than males (20-24 mm versus 15-19 mm) and lack the typical specialized structures for collecting pollen on their hind legs.
