Description

Cordulegaster heros - a species of dragonflies from the family Magniferidae (Cordulegastridae).The male has a body length of 8-9 cm,with a wing length of up to 5 cm.The female is larger: the body length is 9-11 cm,and the wing is 6 cm.It is the largest dragonfly living in Europe and one of the largest occurring outside the tropical climate zone.Similar to the forestry glaucoma ( Cordulegaster boltonii ),although there are a number of features that allow distinguishing them (see literature).
