Alcathoe carolinensis is a butterfly of the familySesiidae, subfamily Sesiinae. Alcathoe carolinensis was first scientifically described by Engelhardt in 1925. The species occurs in the Nearctic area. Alcathoe is a genus of moths in the family Sesiidae.
