Barbus meridionalis is a ray-finned species of fish from the family of carps (Cyprinidae).The scientific name of the species is validly published for the first time in 1827 by Antoine Risso.The species is on the Red List of the IUCN as Sensitive,assessment year 2006.The size of the population is stable according to the IUCN.
