Hemidactylus anamallensis

(Hemidactylus anamallensis)

Description

Hemidactylus anamallensis, also known as the Anamalay gecko or Anamalai Hill gecko, is a species of gecko found in the South Indian hills of Palni, Anamalai and Tirunelveli. It was formerly assigned to the genus Dravidogecko, with a suggestion of resurrection in 2003, as the study suggested molecular phylogenetics is to have had a separate origin from the other Hemidactylus species., but has not yet been widely adopted.
