Description

Cyclanorbis senegalensis is a turtle species described by Duméril and Bibron in 1835.Cyclanorbis senegalensis is part of the genus Cyclanorbis and the family leather turtles.IUCN categorizes the species globally as close to threatened.No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life.Cyclanorbis senegalensis usually has an up to 35 cm long shield and large individuals weigh almost 5 kg.According to another dissertation,the maximum shield length is 60 cm.The species occurs with several from each distinct populations in Africa south of the Sahara.The range extends from Senegal and Liberia to the west to Sudan and western Ethiopia to the east.In the south,Cyclanorbis Senegalensis reaches the northern coastlines of Guinea.The turtle almost resides in all areas with freshwater collections where it finds germs in different seasons.The species can be found in rivers,in ponds,in ponds and in marshes located in the savannah or in forests.Most likely,young animals eat frogs and small fish.Older specimens are probably specialized in shells and other molluscs.According to different studies,the female places 6 to 25 eggs per occasion and the kids are about 45 mm long when they are hatched.
