The turtle soft shell of the Ganges ( Indian softshell turtle Cuvier,1825 ) is a turtle Freshwater family of Softshell With its prominent snout-shaped tube and the carapace incredibly flattened,the soft-shelled turtle from the Ganges,long up to 94 cm,is a reptile d ' freshwater looking very peculiar.It is these strange characteristics,however,that make the species beautifully adapted to life in the riparian habitat: the long neck and the mouthpiece-shaped muzzle allow it to extend the neck out of the water to breathe,and the flattened carapace gives it a hydrodynamic silhouette that makes it an agile and fast swimmer.The carapace,smooth and variable in shape from round to oval,is olive green with a yellow margin.Even the legs are green,while the plastron is gray or cream-colored.The head,broad,has some black stripes that from the top are directed towards the sides.The young specimens,unlike the adult ones,have a series of dark ocelli and various rows of rounded protuberances that adorn the carapace
