Description

Cuphea micropetala, is a species of small parrotal belonging to the Lythraceae family. They are annual plants that grow to a size of 30 to 60 cm in height. The bellows are longer than wide. The flowers are yellow and purple at the base and are arranged in the terminal parts of the plant. Origin unknown, distributed in Asia and Mexico. Present in semi-warm and temperate climates, between 600 and 1900 meters above sea level. It grows along streams, together with the mesófilu de monte, montes d' encina and de pinu.
