(Dorstenia lavrani)
Dorstenia lavrani is a many stemmed, perennial plant which produced a symmetrical “grove” with many succulent, wax-like stems patterned with spiraling rows of whitish leaf scars. Each stem is topped with a rosette of attractively crisped leaves. Stems are simple, up to 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick, up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall and offset at their base. Unlike all others known Dorstenia species which bear male and female flowers from each receptacle, in D. lavrani the sexes are found on separate plants.
